Perinatal + Mental Health

Navigating the transition into parenthood is a profound journey for all individuals. It encapsulates the essence of the dialectical concept that "two things can be true at the same time," a cornerstone of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Parenthood is undeniably a time of joy and wonder, marked by the beauty of new life. Yet, it is also a period fraught with challenges and discomfort.

For approximately 1 in 7 mothers and 1 in 10 fathers, this transition can be compounded by the onset of depressive, anxiety, and various other mental health symptoms during the postpartum period. As a therapist specializing in postpartum mental health, I employ evidence-based treatment techniques such as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Behavioral Activation (BA). These approaches have shown efficacy in addressing the complexities of postpartum mental health disorders.

I invite you to explore my specialized pages to learn more about these treatment modalities and how they can support your journey toward holistic well-being during the postpartum period.
